Story

Sometime Wonderful

A jazzy, upbeat song about making contact with an old friend or perhaps an old flame, a relationship remembered and updated over the years through messages left on each other's answering machines or voice mail.  “ I thought of you just the other day, I found your number, so I’m giving you this call, I don’t know if your still around these days, seems like its been ages since we’ve spoken, so give me a call maybe we can get together sometime…Sometime would be Wonderful, maybe we could meet for dinner in the city?””  Time is precious and life is busy so they keep missing each other. Life is hard.  "Things are not so well for me, I'm a bit behind, the rent is so hard and work doesn't pay that well.  I can't go on...".  But life does go on; new education and a new job means moving out, relocating to another part of the country "We know that friendship isn’t hard when you take it just as it comes, but now I must be on my way."

Lyrics

Track 2:   Sometime Wonderful

I thought of you just the other day,

I found your number.

So I’m giving you this call.

I don’t know if you’re still around these days,

it seems like it’s been ages

since we’ve spoken.

So anyway please give me a call,

maybe we could get together sometime.

Sometime would be wonderful.

I’ve really missed you.

Seems I’ve caught you at a bad time,

maybe we could meet for dinner in the city.

It was so nice to see you at the Colonnade,

you look so well.

I didn’t know you applied to art school,

so did I.

But you’re a teacher now;

that must be fun.

I’ve always thought about it,

but I’ve never had the time.

Sometime would be wonderful.

You’ll have to tell me about it.

I’ll tell you how the station’s going

 and about our old school.

Things are not so well for me,

I’m a bit behind.

The rent is so hard,

and work doesn’t pay that well.

I can’t go on.

I have news for you,

I finally got that job.

But it’s so far away,

half the country.

And I start next week,

my plane’s in the morning.

And I’m so sorry that our time wasn’t long.

But if you give me a call,

leave a message, I’ll listen.

Sometime wonderful, sometime wonderful,

sometime wonderful, sometime wonderful,

sometime wonderful, sometime wonderful,

sometime wonderful, sometime wonderful.

Goodbye, oh it’s been wonderful.

I hope I’ll come back again.

 This time it’s so beautiful.

Now we know friendship isn’t hard

when you take it just as it comes.

But now I must be on my way,

but now I must be on my way,

but now I must be on my way.
